ScanLokal is an offline-first document scanner. Scanning, text recognition (OCR), and PDF export run on your device. We do not operate a cloud account, analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting service for this app, and we do not upload your documents or recognized text to our servers.
We do not collect personal data on our servers. The app has no sign-in and does not send scans, photos, OCR results, titles, or settings to us.
The following stay on your device unless you choose to share them through Android’s share sheet or save them to Downloads:
Scanned page images
Document titles and OCR text you generate or edit
Exported PDF files
App settings (theme, default OCR language, Tesseract model quality)
Optional downloaded Tesseract language files stored in the app’s private storage
3. Permissions
Camera — take photos of documents when you start a scan. Images are processed on the device.
Internet — only to download an OCR language model the first time you need a language that is not already on the device. Recognition itself does not require a network.
Storage / Photos and videos / Files — read a photo you pick from the gallery, and (on older Android versions) save a PDF to Downloads when you ask the app to do so.
You can deny a permission. Features that need it will not run until you grant it.
4. Network and third parties
When you download a Tesseract language model, the app may request the file from public model hosts such as GitHub and jsDelivr. Those hosts receive a standard download request (IP address, time, and file path) under their own policies. The request does not include your scans or OCR text.
On-device OCR for many languages uses Google ML Kit and/or Google Play services. Google may download recognition models to your device as part of Play services. That process is governed by Google’s policies, not by a ScanLokal server.
If you tap Share, Android opens the app or service you choose (email, messaging, Drive, etc.). What happens next is controlled by that destination, not by ScanLokal.
5. Retention and deletion
Documents remain on the device until you delete them in the app or uninstall ScanLokal. Uninstalling removes app-private files. PDFs you saved to Downloads remain there until you delete them yourself.
6. Children
ScanLokal is a general-purpose productivity tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
7. Security
Because processing is local, your scans are not transmitted to us. Keep the device locked. Shared or exported files follow the security of the place you send or save them.
8. Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the effective date. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.

3. Izin
Kamera — memotret dokumen saat Anda memulai pemindaian.
Internet — hanya untuk mengunduh model bahasa OCR saat pertama kali diperlukan. Pengenalan teks tidak membutuhkan jaringan.
Penyimpanan / Foto — membaca foto dari galeri, dan (di Android lama) menyimpan PDF ke Unduhan jika Anda memintanya.
4. Jaringan dan pihak ketiga
Unduhan model Tesseract dapat menuju host publik (misalnya GitHub dan jsDelivr) sesuai kebijakan mereka. Permintaan tidak berisi pindaian atau teks OCR Anda.
OCR di perangkat untuk banyak bahasa memakai Google ML Kit dan/atau Google Play services, yang tunduk pada kebijakan Google.
Jika Anda mengetuk Bagikan, aplikasi tujuan yang Anda pilih yang mengatur data selanjutnya.
5. Penyimpanan dan penghapusan
Dokumen tetap di perangkat sampai Anda menghapusnya di aplikasi atau mencopot ScanLokal. PDF di folder Unduhan harus Anda hapus sendiri.
6. Anak-anak
ScanLokal bukan layanan yang ditujukan kepada anak di bawah 13 tahun. Kami tidak dengan sengaja mengumpulkan data anak.
